Dear East Credit Dental friends and Family,

We are happy to say that we are officially reopening our office on Wednesday, June 3rd,2020.

These few months have had a significant impact on our community, however, we have worked hard to get ready for a safe return to serving you.

Infection control has always been our priority, and we would like to assure you that our office strictly follows the infection control regulations of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the Provincial Ministry of Health. Our team has participated in various on line safety training sessions to ensure the safety of our employees and patients. On Monday June1st the whole team participated in a 4 hour, in office IPAC training course. We have added new equipment to our office so that each opperatory has it’s own dedicated Air filtration system complete with hepa filtration. We have expanded our PPE (personal protective equipment) inventory. In addition, we are going to implement changes to our daily routine; some of them include:

Screening:

  • all employees will undergo daily screening for COVID-19 symptoms. We are aware that screening questions are subject to change, and we will be updating them on a daily basis. 

  • all patients will be subject to the same screening questions on the phone prior to coming to the office.

Physical distancing within the office: 

  • to ensure appropriate physical distancing, we will stagger appointment times, limit the number of individuals present at one time in the office, and use ground markings and barriers to manage traffic flow. 

  • our waiting room will be closed and we will ask patients to wait in their cars until we call them in for their appointments.

  • we are asking that all patients wear a face covering or mask to the appointment, to be taken off only when we start the procedure.

Handling Packages and Items: 

  • When handling and delivering packages, a physical distance of at least 2 meters will be maintained when possible. If physical distancing cannot be maintained, appropriate PPE will be worn. 

  • All shipped items will be cleaned and properly disinfected. 

Attending appointments:

  • We will call with a pre-screening exam concerning COVID-19.

  • Please understand that we will be seeing fewer patients throughout the day and scheduling appointments in a manner that promotes social distancing and allows for adequate time for us to disinfect all areas of use in between patient appointments.

  • All appointments must be booked with us. There will be NO walk-ins. 

  • We ask that patients enter the office unaccompanied, if possible. Only a single-family member or caretaker will be allowed for those patients who need a guardian to accompany them.

  • Every person entering the office is expected to wear a face covering and will be asked to sanitize their hands immediately upon entry.

We look forward to seeing you and your family soon. If you would like to discuss further what steps we are taking to ensure the safe delivery of our services, please don’t hesitate to contact our office directly and we will be more than happy to answer all your questions. Understand that this is a fluid situation and we will keep up to date and adjust to any changes or new regulations. 

These times are challenging but together we will get through this. And remember, even though the masks will make it hard to see our smiles, you will still hear us laugh.

April17,2020

To all patients,

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the office closure is still in effect as per the mandate of the dental licensing body the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. As soon as a projected opening date is available, we will post it .

 

In case of a dental emergency you can reach Dr. Tracogna at 416-303-4330 or you can call the emergency dental clinic at 416-485-7121.

 

For those patients with booked appointments we will contact you to move those appointments once we know our opening date.

UPDATE:

March 30th 11:30 am

To all patients, 

 

As of today, we are extending our office closure through to the end of April 2020. Our current projected date of opening is now Monday May 4, 2020. As you can appreciate this situation is fluid and constantly changing. 

 

For those with appointments in April we will try to contact you to move those appointments to the summer. If we cannot reach you now you will be assigned a new appointment date so that we don’t lose you in our system. A few weeks before your new appointment we will confirm or change that time.

UPDATE:

March 25th 4:00 pm

Our local hospitals are preparing for the coming strain on their resources. This is about to get worse over the next few weeks. The one thing that they all need is Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protected the front line physicians and nurses who are treating the most vulnerable. 

 

In an attempt to do something to help with the ongoing stress on our health care system we have decided to run a PPE drive to collect these supplies for the local hospitals. If you or anyone you know has access to boxes of gloves, masks, visors or gowns please drop them off at our office on;

 

Friday March 27th between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.

March 15th, 2020 - 8:00 pm. 

As we monitor the current situation and consult colleagues and the recommendations of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario we have come to the decision to suspend any non-essential services at our clinic at this time for the following two weeks.

How we're responding:

The COVID-19 situation is quickly evolving and East Credit Dental, we are committed to ensuring we have all the most up to date information. We understand that coming to the dentist during this time can be stressful, we'd like to help answer some questions to help you better understand what we're doing: 

 

  • Our team sterilizes our equipment after every use with the same sterilization standards as hospitals and other medical facilities using a dual system with a thorough mechanical cleaning followed by an autoclave to sterilize our equipment.

    • Anything that cannot be sterilized is disposed after one use. 
       

  • Our office is equipped with a centralized surgically clean air  filtration system.

    • This commercial system uses a 6-stage filtration process to destroy allergens, pathogens and especially, viruses. ​

    • This system is certified for use in surgical operatories
       

  • We are screening all patients prior to scheduling appointments and upon arrival for appointments based on their recent travel, contact with those who have travelled and any symptoms related to COVID-19.

 

  • Our team will be monitoring the situation as updates become available and we will be informing our patients if there are any interruptions to service.
